Park It

In 1935, the just-shy-of-12 acre Manning Family Estate was gifted to the county as Manning Park. The park is divided into two main areas by San Ysidro Road: Upper and Lower Manning. Whether you want a serene spot to read a book, a grassy lawn to walk your dog, a beautiful space to reserve for your next event, or an uncrowded playground area for the kids, Manning Park is spacious, well-kept, and very family-friendly.

Upper Manning Park

If you’re heading up San Ysidro Road toward the mountains, Upper Manning Park will be on your left. This park includes a tennis court, historic carriage house called the Manning Park Youth Center (available to be used free of charge by non-profit community youth groups), restrooms, playground for children ages 2-5, and picnic areas with barbeque grills. Head inside the park to find multiple parking areas and ample parking.

Lower Manning Park

This lower park is located off of San Ysidro Road on Santa Rosa Lane. You’ll find a playground, a ball field, restrooms, a sand volleyball court, and picnic areas with barbeque grills. If you’re looking for more open space for recreational activities, this is the park for you. Lower Manning is accessed through a large parking lot, so typically parking is easily attainable.
